  Sultan Hyder Ali is pleased with his new stone fort. I'm happy with the five sailing ships we captured within the port, resting in the waters under control of the fort's guns. Two 56-gun fourth-rate men-of-war and three 1,000-ton East Indiamen. Those would provide more than ample transportation and recompense for my men on our trip back to America.

  When the quartermaster asked how long the East India Company's officers would be held, I smiled and told him to file a petition with Sultan Ali in triplicate, and not to forget to sign and seal it properly.

  I cocked my hat and headed out for my new squadron as Commodore Drake.
